One of the most common questions we get from couples is “What is your style on the day of the wedding?” People want to know how involved we will be on the day of their wedding, and more importantly, whether or not we will distract their guests from having a good time. This is a great question!
The number one thing you want to do when finding the right cinematography team for you is to find out if they’re a good fit for you and your style.
Our style tends to be more casual and unobtrusive. Our whole goal with Your Day Films is to capture your love and your day, as it happens. We want moments to unfold organically, and for you to look back on your film to remember special moments happening, not moments that we have staged. We want you to watch your film and say, “Oh man, I remember when that happened!” Not, “Oh man, remember when David and Holly had us do this?” Like we said, it’s your day, not ours.
We know how important it is for your guests to have a great time and not feel like they’re in the spotlight.
We’ve had so many couples, and even some guests who’ve attended weddings we have shot, say that they didn’t even remember us being there for certain moments. This doesn’t mean that we try and hide behind a tree or couch or whatever throughout your day. But it does mean that will generally stay out of the way and let your day unfold without our meddling. There may be a few times when we ask you to pose a certain way, or do something again (just like a photographer would do), but generally this is in tandem with your photographer during the time you have dedicated to these types of moments. We are there to make your wedding film the best that it can be!
